6-STEP PLAN TO GET YOU STARTED

  1. initial meeting in person, via internet or by phone.
  2. after the first meeting a "Summary of Work Document" will be sent which describes the brief and includes an invoice and stage payments for the work. You can change, add or approve elements of the brief.
  3. 40% of the total invoice is to be paid at this stage if you elect to proceed with the work.
  4. at the start of the project an initial low res pdf draft will be sent to you to amend/approve will be made. A further 40% of the total invoice will be due at this stage.
  5. a second low res pdf, incorporating any changes you have made, will be sent for your approval on receipt of the second payment.
  6. once the low res pdf has been approved the remaining 20% payment will be due. A high res print ready pdf will be sent via email or wetransfer.com once payment has been received.

 

Children's Book illustration, Maps, Guides and Activity Sheets

Pigeonscratch designs and illustrates maps, guides and activity sheets for heritage venues to help visitors find their way to and around their sites. Our designs are fun and quirky and appeal to visitors of all ages. Our aim is that visitors will have a memorable experience and will learn something about the history, culture and importance of the venue. Our children's book illustrations are also quirky, fun and colourful, allowing the child to read the story while reading visual clues, characters and atmospheres. We create a visual world in which the child to journey through.


Isabel Davis

Isabel Davis is a practising artist with 25years' experience teaching in primary schools, high school and private tutoring, with a focus on multicultural and multi-lingual educational settings. She gained her Bachelor's degree in Art and Design from the Sir John Cass School of Art - nicknamed the "Aldgate Bauhaus" - in 1990 and her PGCE from the University of Sunderland in 2003, and further study at Chelsea University of the Arts London.

Isabel is a painter, illustrator and storyteller. Her work is quirky and fun. She draws inpiration from her life experiences and surrounding environment. Her work is vibrant and textural, with a mixed media approach. Her teaching experience has given her an in-depth understanding of what is visually appealing to children and her acting and theatre work gives her work a sense of drama. As a PCC trustee of St. John's Ealing she is also an elected as Eco Champion for the parish, which influences her writing and illustration. Creative care issues being an important infulence on her work.

Isabel was invited by the United Nations to exhibit at a prestigious gallery in Kuwait at the Kuwait Formative Arts Society to celebrate International Women's Day. She was also invited by the United Nations to take part in the "Woman's Right to Artistic Expression" exhibition in celebration of UN Week, at the Kuwait Society For Formative Arts. Exhibitions in the UK include St. Martin's in the Field (Trafalgar Square), the Small Mansions Art Gallery and Gallery B to name a few. For two years running Isabel won first prize in two painting competitions in the Middle East for expatriate artists. Lastly, Isabel is a member of a Social Justice group, and has participated in charitable events where she has used her art to raise money for orphanages in Zimbabwe, Learn Aid and Home Start.

Charlotte Glebocki

Charlotte Glebocki is an adventurous illustrator who travels with her sketchpad in her backpack, recording her experiences throughout Europe, Asia, and South America. She spent her formative years in the Middle East and now resides in East London.

She loves strong, vibrant colours and has a quirky sense of humour, which is reflected in her illustrations and animations. She has a great affinity with cats and whippets, which often appear in her work. Charlotte is also inspired by the diveristy of the human experience. Her working knowledge of psychology and professional qualifications in physiotherapy help to inform her creative approach to illustration and animation projects.
