the Benefits of booking an author/illustrator visit
Meeting the author/illustrator gives children a memorable experience to cherish forever.
An author/illustrator visit can inspire children to do their own creative writing and illustration.
Taking part in workshop activities provided by the author/illustrator can help boost a child’s self esteem and confidence.
Parents can sit in on their child’s visit, making it a fun experience which they can share with their children.
Children will be inspired to read and participating parents will be encouraged to read with their children.
HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF MY VISIT
Read Froggit Froggins with the children before the visit so that they can think of questions to ask during the Q&A session.
Children think it’s really cool to have a personally signed copy from the author.
Play the book trailer video (available on this website and YouTube) before the visit to to increase their excitement.
I am DBS checked, however, the presence of a member of staff during in person sessions is desirable.
THINGS WE WILL NEED
Virtual visits: A3 sheets of paper, black pens, writing and colouring pencils.
In person visits: white A4 paper that can be folded into pages to make a picture book. Drawing and writing pencils.
White board or flip chart.
In time for the COP conferences readings and activities for schools and local kids churches. A big shout out to St.John’s, St. Mellitus, St. Pauls and St.Mary’s for sharing the conservation message too!
